Black cherry colour of medium intensity with garnet highlights. Powerful, complex aromas: notes of red fruit preserve with lactic hints; toffee, sweet spices and toasted notes evoke its time in the cask. Aeration reveals mineral aromas, alongside biscuity notes, candied fruit cake and hints of aromatic herbs such as thyme. Sweet, voluptous mouth feel. Well-structured tannins fill the palate. Good acidity present throughout, adding freshness. Very long, balanced finish with hints of dried fruit and wafers.
